Description
Safety Officer
Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment at all project sites and facilities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and risks in operational processes.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety measures, including the proper use of equipment and personal protective gear.
- Monitor compliance with industry safety standards, local regulations, and company policies.
- Investigate and report any workplace accidents, incidents, or near-misses, and take corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure all lifting, forming, bolting, and handling operations are conducted following safety guidelines and high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to assess and mitigate safety risks associated with tooling products and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain safety records, reports, and documentation for regulatory compliance and internal audits.
- Act as a safety ambassador, promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred.
- Proven experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, including lifting, forming, and bolting operations.
- Ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
