Safety Steward – Overhauling Shutdown

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Steward to join our team for overhauling shutdown projects. As a Safety Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all safety protocols are followed on-site during the shutdown phase of our projects. Your primary responsibility will be to support the overall safety management efforts, ensure a hazard-free working environment, and promote a strong culture of safety during the execution of critical overhauling operations.
- On-site Safety Oversight: Monitor daily safety practices and ensure that all personnel adhere to safety regulations and procedures during the overhauling shutdown.
- Safety Inspections: Perform regular inspections of work areas, scaffolding, equipment, and machinery to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Safety Induction & Training: Conduct safety inductions for workers at the start of the shutdown and provide continuous reminders of best safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and unsafe conditions and take proactive measures to mitigate these hazards, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Incident Reporting & Investigation: Report any safety incidents or near-misses promptly and participate in the investigation process to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure that all workers are properly equipped with the necessary PPE and that safety equipment is maintained in optimal condition.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to lead or assist in emergency situations, ensuring that all personnel are evacuated safely if needed and that first aid is administered when necessary.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incident reports to ensure compliance with safety regulations and client requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and other safety officers to ensure smooth execution of the shutdown with minimal disruptions and maximum safety.
