Description

  • We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Manager for a construction and interior fitout project in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the entire deployed HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards, and driving a strong safety culture on-site.Key Responsibilities:
    1. Leadership of HSE Team: Lead and manage the HSE team, including engineers and stewards from vendors and sub-vendors, ensuring a cohesive approach to safety on-site.
    2. HSE Documentation Management: Oversee and manage essential HSE-related documentation, including HSE plans, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and weekly safety reports.
    3. Client and PMC Communication: Respond to client and Project Management Consultant (PMC) safety-related queries, addressing their concerns and providing clear, accurate information.
    4. Safety Audits and Compliance: Conduct regular HSE audits to ensure that the site is compliant with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Take full responsibility for implementing corrective actions and improving site safety performance.
    5. Site Safety Management: Develop and implement comprehensive safety strategies, ensuring that all personnel follow proper safety procedures, risk mitigation measures, and emergency protocols.
    6. Training and Awareness: Conduct safety training programs and ensure all workers on-site are equipped with the knowledge to work safely.
    7. Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed safety reports to senior management, outlining safety performance, incidents, and areas for improvement.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in a similar safety management role within construction and/or interior fitout projects.
    • Expertise in managing HSE documentation, such as HSE plans, HIRA, SWMS, KPIs, and weekly reports.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively address client and PMC safety-related queries.
    • Proficiency in the local language (Tamil) is mandatory for deployment in Chennai.
    • Experience in conducting HSE audits and taking responsibility for site safety management.
    • Ability to lead and coordinate a diverse team of engineers and safety personnel from various vendors and sub-vendors.
