Description

A Rigging & Lifting Expert in a Steel Manufacturing Plant is a highly skilled professional responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of heavy materials, machinery, and equipment within the plant. This role involves overseeing all aspects of rigging and lifting operations, ensuring they comply with industry safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and Coordination: Develop and execute detailed lift plans for moving heavy steel materials, machinery, or components within the plant. This includes selecting the appropriate lifting equipment, rigging gear, and personnel.
• Rigging Setup: Safely set up and operate rigging equipment such as hoists, cranes, slings, and winches. Ensure all rigging gear is properly inspected and maintained.
• Safety Protocols: Adhere to and enforce safety standards to prevent accidents and damage. Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and training sessions for rigging teams.
• Load Handling: Manage the correct and secure attachment of loads, ensuring that they are balanced and properly secured for lifting and transportation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with plant engineers, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve any issues that may arise during lifting operations, including mechanical failures or unexpected challenges.
• Compliance: Ensure all activities meet local, national, and international regulations, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) or similar safety regulations.
