Description

•  Two environment experts are required, a senior expert with at least 20 years’ experience and a master’s degree and a site based expert with at least 10 years’ experience and a bachelor’s degree.
• Degrees to be in environmental science environmental management, environmental engineering or other related fields.
• He/she should have the requisite years’ experience in carrying out environmental impact assessment and management of infrastructure projects preferably in the power generation, oil and gas sectors, with at least 5-10 years’ experience in supervision, monitoring and implementation of environmental management plans (EMPs) and preparing environmental monitoring reports.
• Experience in consulting services for implementation of gas fired combined cycle or thermal power plant projects will be beneficial. Senior expert must have experience in environment training and capacity development, experience in countries with mature environmental assessment and management enforcement practices will be preferred.
• The understanding of national environmental law /regulations and international good practice for environment management such as per the IFC EHS General and Thermal Power Plant Guidelines is essential.
• Also, experience with international multilateral organizations is preferable. The tasks under this position are detailed in Environmental Safeguard Management including Ecological Input of Scope of Services.
• The site-based expert shall be deployed in Rokhia on full time basis and will provide support to the PMU team.
• Their deployment must be commensurate with the site requirement and work progress; and their ability to communicate in local Bengali language will be an advantage.
