Regulatory Compliance:
Stay updated on relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations and ensure the organization’s compliance with local, national, and international standards. Interpret regulations and guide management and employees on compliance requirements.
Risk Assessment and Management:
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace, including chemical exposure risks, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Implement safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Safety Training and Education:
Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and chemical handling best practices. Foster a culture of safety awareness and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.
Environmental Protection:
Develop and implement programs to reduce the organization’s environmental footprint, including waste reduction, pollution prevention, and sustainable practices. Monitor environmental performance metrics and implement initiatives to improve environmental sustainability.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate records of incidents and report findings to regulatory agencies as required.
Emergency Response Planning:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios, including chemical spills, fires, and natural disasters. Conduct drills and exercises to test emergency response procedures and ensure readiness
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, engineering, and procurement, to integrate safety and environmental considerations into business processes and decision-making. Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on EHS performance, issues, and initiatives.
Process Safety Management:
Collaborate with the team in PHA, HAZoP studied for identifying process safety hazards and implement controls. Ensure MOCs are done periodically and PSM elements are implemented effectively. Responsible for second party /Responsible care certification.
Company’s Safety management system:
Responsible for implementing company’s EHS standards to ensure work place safety. Assign responsibility to the internal stakeholders for timely & effective compliance to company’s environment, health and safety standards.
